World Cyber Security Summit (#TresconCyber) gathered key stakeholders from Saudi Arabia and the world to discuss effective cyber-resilience strategies for the kingdom in a post-pandemic age. Monday, 02 November 2020: In a bid to support Saudi Arabia’s bold vision of becoming a more hyper-connected digital hub and knowledge-based economy, World Cyber Security Summit succeeded in highlighting the potentials of key technologies for enabling a more cyber-resilience framework for the region. World Cyber Security Summit – KSA, saw senior level cyber security leaders from the kingdom participate in the online event.
The discussion essentially centred on creating cyber security framework for critical assets and critical Infrastructure, cyber security technologies for smart cities of the future, cyber security and defense strategy for governments and other burning questions that are on top of the mind of CyberSec leaders.

In a keynote on Cyber Security Technologies for Smart Cities of the Future, Mike Loginov, CISO & CTO of NEOM, Saudi Arabia, said:
“The next evolution is the advent of the cognitive city. NEOM will be built on IoT devices, so the first criterion is to push the onus out on to the supply chain. We want to know that the technologies are properly tested before we deploy them in the live environment. We have to ensure every one of those is secured to a level.” He stated in his opening statement.

Tech Talk on Planning for Recovery
Haider Pasha, Sr. Director and Chief Security Officer for North/Eastern Europe, Middle East, & Africa, Palo Alto Networks, UAE delivered a tech talk on ‘Maintaining cyber-resilience during Covid’ and shared a few key cyber security trends. His presentation covered three key areas such as business continuity, secure access and increasing collaboration. He said, “Covid has accelerated a lot of digitization initiatives, both from a smart city and business perspective. For us, technology is always the last piece of the puzzle. You have to ensure your strategy, organization, policy, processes are correct, technology is just an add-on.”
Government Panel Discussion
The summit featured a panel discussion on ‘Cyber Security and Defense Strategy for Government’.
